Manon Hermans (b. 1995, Borgerhout, Belgium, lives and works in Antwerp) is a visual artist under the alias manonina.

In 2019 she graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy, in Rotterdam, with a degree in Arts. Since then, she created visuals and murals for magazines, newspapers, brands, and cultural organizations including including the Flemish Government, De Morgen, De Standaard, Amnesty International and UGent.

Her work is characterised by a colourful and figurative visual language in which characters, nature and symbolism come together at the intersection of reality and the dreamlike.

Biography

In recent years, her practice has shifted towards autonomous work. Drawing from observations of contemporary society and her inner world, she explores themes such as desire, memory and contradiction in relation to societal changes.

In her paintings, she uses acrylic on canvas to create narrative worlds in which the intimate and the uncanny coexist, where she explores the complexity of human experiences.

Manon’s illustration work was selected for the World Illustration Awards 2025 and received a Merit Award at the Hiiibrand Illustration Awards 2025. In 2026, she was selected for the Blind Walls Talent Call programme in Breda and presented her first series of autonomous paintings at Patio25 at Bernaerts Gallery in Antwerp. Her practice continues to evolve at the intersection of illustration, painting and art in public space.
